How
While stones are heated in a sacred fire, participants deepen into nature and ceremonial space/time in various ways. There is drumming, singing, helping, and hanging out in a most beautiful natural setting, absorbing the light of the forest. Darlene will provide an orientation to the lodge.
When the stones are ready people take their place in the low domed shaped structure and the stones are placed in a pit in the center. The door is closed and all you can see is the glowing of the stones in the darkness. Prayers are said and water is poured on the hot rocks making steam. The earth is cool beneath you, and the warm moist air begins to melt the tensions and pains in your body, and in your heart. Songs are sung and individual prayers for healing are made. All faiths are welcome.
Working with the alchemical powers of the natural elements, earth, air, fire and water, we release that which is no longer in harmony with our being; we pray with and for creation and for ourselves to reconnect to the Whole from where we come and within which we are enfolded, and from where a very deep level of cleansing and healing happens.
There are times when the door is open and light and water and cool air come in, and more stones are also brought in.
This time is ceremonial time.
Spirit stirs within and around us and is often felt very strongly in the sacred space of the lodge. More prayers of the heart are made and we listen in silence to hear the answers. We complete the past and move into a state of renewal as we progress through the ceremony. Our bodies are also cleansed and renewed.
Love and respect for each other and all beings is the first principle, and natural outcome of this ceremony as we re-member ourselves, become more whole, and healed.
We emerge, renewed, reborn, refreshed, cleansed and after a good night sleep, the renewed spirit allows us to smile fully at life again.
People who are new to this form are very welcome and supported in the experience. I invite you to give it a try.
