Earthwalk Open House weekends are set aside for the public to come and enjoy the retreat in various ways.
There is camping or staying in the Scamper for overnight adventures. The lodge has a couple of rooms to rent as well. Many people come for the day, either Saturday or Sunday.
There is no set schedule because it all depends on who comes and what they are looking for, but there are many options available, below and discussed elsewhere on this web site in depth.
Generally there is a fire circle Saturday night, and depending on the interest, there is story telling, including personal cosmologies, and universal cosmologies that open ourselves to larger realities. For the more active groups, dance, drumming, chanting, roasting marshmallows or a combination there of. In the winter months a full moon walk is likely.
I teach people to use tools in their encounter with nature that can help open us to a larger story than we have known before, both personally and universally. I teach a form of presence and natural awareness that I call Natural Communion and the Art of Soul Whispering, that is a great meditation and healing practice.
There are ways of using a nature walk down Enchanting Run as a natural labyrinth and vehicle for Questing for the path in any given moment.
I use movement, breath, nature and sound to help us loose our mind and come to our senses, so we can be present to what is around us as well as to open to the suffering states of confusion,negativity, depression and disconnection, that are with us for healing.
I help people go through the strong passages and squeezes life brings, which are especially prevalent now, so usually there is time for an individual session or two.
Ceremonies and ritual bathing with water and herbs or other natural ceremonies including the sweat lodge is available.
Sunbathing on Turkey Island in the Middle of the Rappahannock River or taking a 6 mile float trip down to Fredericksburg are also on the menu.
